Drama Instructor

Kelly Pelton has been working with Marina Youth Arts and the children in our community for 12 years.  Her focus is primarily with the Los Arboles Middle School students in a free after school program where Marina Youth Arts has produced shows such as Frozen Jr, Aladdin Jr, Annie Jr, High School Musical Jr, High School Musical 2 Jr, Peter Pan Jr, Alice in Wonderland Jr, Footloose Jr, Grease Jr, Best of Broadway and Showstoppers.  Kelly also enjoys running summer camps in partnership with the City of Marina where each summer has themed shows that focus on singing, dancing, acting and performers also get to create their scenery and costuming.  Mrs. Pelton enjoys partnering with various schools to put on elementary and middle school talent shows to give the children in our community an opportunity to showcase and get their act together on the big stage.  Kelly is inspired by these treasured memories and friendships forged along the journey that continues to inspire her to bring programming to our local children that otherwise wouldn’t have the time and money to get to a dance studio or join a professional theater.  She enjoys sharing these fleeting moments and time with the children of Marina, including her three daughters.  The production for 2020-21 will be Aladdin Jr. and Kelly is looking forward to creating another revival of this treasured favorite.
